Gluten-Free Snack Ideas

Eating gluten-free can be enjoyable, but does tend to require a little extra time and planning.

Eating gluten-free on-the-go can be a pretty difficult task to navigate. For healthy, gluten-free snacks many people plan ahead and keep things handy. But there are inevitably times when all you can do is stop at a convenience store or gas stop for some quick cals to hold you over.

I asked the amazing gluten-free Twitter community what some their favorite gluten-free snacks include, here’s what they had to say:

Betsy & Claude Cookies, of course! -@BetsyClaude

Mine are Kind Bars and Betsy & Claude Cookies. -@GlutenFreePost

Tortilla chips, yogurt or fresh fruit. -@parthena

One of my favorite gluten free snacks are Larabars. Not only are they delicious, but it’s another wonderful Colorado company. -@SimplyBoulder

Larabars when I can get them. Cashew cookie is my current favorite. But fritos are edible in a pinch. -@tacomamama

Fritos. -@steffeck

A bag of raw almonds and dried cherries or one of my gluten-free granola bars. -@GFDoctor

Boulder Canyon potato chips are my favorite g-free snack obviously :-) All but Malt Vinegar & Sea Salt are gluten-free! -@bouldercanyon

Justins peanut butter. -@NaturalGrocers

Justin’s Organic Peanut Butter Squeeze Pack – mmmmm! -@carolhenke

Glutino GF Pretzel Sticks! But I am new to being gluten-free, so still looking for ideas/suggestions for gluten-free snacks while on the go! ;-) -@Fibenymphs_Blog

Gummi bears! -@mlvlatina

Nature’s Path Buckwheat Berry Waffles or Van’s Apple Cinn waffles. -@ultimatestamina

My favorite traveling snack is bananas…. or celery ….. or Kind Bars…… or Rice Works….. I guess I have a few :-) -@noglutenhere

And my favorite would have to be plain potato chips. I love Kettle, Boulder Canyon and Cape Cod, but in an airport or gas station with very limited options, Lays work too! The salt satisfies and the fat fills me right up.

Of course, if you are on the go and need a quick snack, you can always Tweet for suggestions.

When Kristen and Taylor created The Gluten-Free Search Engine years ago, they never dreamed that just a few years later they would be sharing their lives with a beautiful, gluten-allergic dog named Waylon. Not too long after adopting their new "dog child," they headed closer to home and found themselves in the mountains of North Carolina. It was here that Kristen realized her lifelong dream of creating healthier, gluten-free beauty products and launched Gluten Free Beauty. Having shared her finds for the safest and best natural, g/f beauty products via her first-ever website, NaturallyDahling.com, she is thrilled now to be putting out products that she can enjoy and that she knows are safer than alternatives!
